Kijiji Filters Limited is a new company in Kenya, registered in 2023 to handle wholesale and retail sales locally. We are partners with NewCo-Pro, the global sales agent for Sydney Filters. The filter was designed in Africa, specifically for the needs of the millions of people who lack access to clean and safe drinking water.
LangaLanga School Project
LangaLanga Primary and Junior Secondary School, near Gilgil in Kenya, has nearly 1300 pupils who attend daily. Their water source is partly from a mains provider (NAROWASCO) and partly from rainwater harvested off the rooves of some of the classrooms during the rainy season. The mains water is not reliably safe to drink, and when tested it contained fecal matter and was deemed unfit for human consumption. Rainwater is not fit to drink either, being contaminated with dirt from the rooves, and the storage tanks.
Kijiji Filters decided to set up a pilot project at the school using donated money from NewCo Pro donors, with the aim of providing safe drinking water for the pupils while they are at school.
